The music was playing, the sun was shining, the families were gathering and the runners were running.
If you want to have a great day, go to the Groton Road Race next April and see what fun you missed by not being there this year. They had a record turn out this year and I can only see this one getting bigger and better.
This is my 2nd trip to this race in 3 years and once again it was a delight to be there. This is a day for everyone of all different talent and enthusiam levels of running. There are real short races for the kids, a 2k for kids and short distance running adults, a 5k and a 10k. The volunteers ( who I believe races could not exist without) were smiling and pleasant and helped set the stage for a wonderful day.Â
Betty and Jane were the 1st people I met while registering and Howard was a wealth of organizing info. I am incorporatng 2k and 3k runs into the races I am helping organize and it was great to get his knowledge and insite.
There are 2 more entries for you to read after this one. Those entries are about the great runners I met at the race. You, however, should come next year and experience the whole day, you’ll be happy you did.
