July 4Th Race In Norwood, Ma.

by altardy on July 7, 2011

I very much wanted to run a race on Independence Day.  However, I woke up at 3:00a.m. feeling quite ill and thought the chance of running was out the window.  But with a little rest, and feeling a bit better, I made my way to a 5 p.m. race in Norwood, Ma..  And I feel it was meant to be.  I found this all American town to be a great setting for the celebration.

Dorothy and Lee were the first people I met at the registration table. I could tell with 2 wonderful people like them to start my visit the rest of the day had to be great.  Along with the race there was a parade.  The towns people gathered in large numbers to show their support of the runners.  But more importantly to show their support of the celebration and the freedoms the day signifies.

I had a special treat by being there and there are two entries after this to show you some of the folks I enjoyed running with.  It truly was meant for me to be in Norwood that day.
