October 7th was originally forecast for rain. But, the “beer gods” brought sunshine, warmth and 1200 runners to the 10th Annual Harpoon Octoberfest in Windsor, Vermont.

The event raises money for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and treats people to a wonderful day of entertainment. For me it also had a very special significance that you read in the first of four short entries following this one.Â
