It was March 18th and time for the 42nd annual Holyoke St. Patty’s Day Race.
Snow turning into rain had been the weather forecast for this event during the entire week leading up to this race.
But with a lot of prayers and, of course, The Luck Of The Irish these were the skies that arrived race day.
This was the tent Friday afternoon prior to opening for early shirt and number pick up for the race the next day. Â But by Friday night and then Saturday the tent was bustling with runners, walkers and excited people because of the glorious weather that would be shining on this event.
The tables that would hold the food for the runners were being set up by 9 a.m. and would be filled only to emptyed and replenished many times by the 6000 plus runners that came.
Brian Donoghue has been a great friend for many years.  He and Jim Wildman are the co-chairmen for this race and make an awesome team. Their  efforts have set a foundation for this race and they continue to work on making the changes that improve and enhance it every year.  They are great leaders and it shows in the quality of the event that happens on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend.
I have 5 entries with pictures to show parts of the excitement from this year’s race. Check them out.
