A TRIBUTE TO A FAITHFUL SPECTATOR

by altardy on March 20, 2018

This man is at the 3.7 mile area in the 6.2 mile race.

Since I was running injured that day, and just jogging the course, I decided to stop in and say hello.  I forget his name (I will attempt to get it again and correct this) but for the last 30 years of this race he stands in the yard and plays great music on the bagpipes as the runners run past.  I always look forward to hearing him because at that point you have just finished the hardest parts of the course.  So to me it’s not only entertaining but inspiring and triumphant all in one.  THANK YOU MY FRIEND FROM ALL THOSE RUNNERS THAT YOU’VE HELPED OVER ALL THESE YEARS.

Now there are 4 more entries showing some of the runners he inspired that day.  So check the out and read on….
