Without Volunteers You Wouldn’t Be Running

by altardy on September 10, 2012

As a person who has put on, or been involved in, races and charity events I know how important volunteers are.  In a road race, from the people you meet at the registraion tables, to those manning the water tables, direction and protection people to those that make sure you get food there can never be enough helpers.  All the people you see, and many you don’t,are there for free to make sure you have a good time.  You need to remember to thank them next time.

One special volunteer was Ann.  Ann was one of the people pouring glasses of carbs for the runners.  Harpoon is one of the sponsors and the free beer is part of the day for the runners and walkers.

And Matt was keeping the carb line moving, which when there are a thousand runners that enjoy cups of carbs, is not an easy chore.

I have 3 more entries so you can enjoy what the day was like pre and post carbs.
