That’s right, it’s that time again.  The 4th annual Toasted Owl Gives A Hoot 5k and 2k.  The money raised goes to the Cutchins Program which is an organization that helps kids and families in crisis and are doing great things for the community.  IMG_0003

Pictured here with me are Pamela Wicinas, the Director of Developement for Cutchins, and Fred Gore, owner of The Toasted Owl at 21 Main Street in Northampton, Ma., and the host site for this great event.   Fred has been a true friend for many years. One day four years ago we were just having a casual conversation when he asked if I would help organize a race at the Toasted Owl. It was Fred’s finding the Cutchins Program that completed the picture and set the wheels in motion.  IMG_0002

And if you weren’t there last Sunday you missed an awesome, awesome day.  HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE CAME OUT…..A RECORD NUMBER OF RUNNERS AND WALKERS.  That’s right, we more than doubled the numbers from last year.

Pamela, who is new to the team, added incredible knowledge and enthusiasm. You will see many of her ideas come to life as you read the 6 entries after this one.IMG_0011

When I arrive 4 hours before start time, when the parking lot looked like this, little did we know that we were about to have our biggest year ever— doubling our numbers in just one year.
