14th Annual Fire Fighter’s Memorial 6k June 8, 2014

I have no idea how Imissed this great race during the 11 years I’ve been running races.  This race was originally started in memory of 6 fire fighters lost in the line of duty.  It unfortunately has risen to remembering 8.  Cliff DeCourcy, Tom Spencer, Jerry Lucey, Joe McGuirk, Jay Lyons, Paul Brotherton, Tim Jackson and Jon Davies.  Through the efforts of many they won’t be forgotten. 

I was there 2 hours before the start and things were quiet. But the grills that were quiet at 9:30 a.m. were pumping out tons of food by noon.  

And the bounce house would be quiet until over 1,500 runners and walkers decended on the race site by days end.
