This past saturday I journied to a place and race I had been to about 4-5 years ago.

It was Fitchburg, Ma. for the 23rd Annual Fitchburg Police Relief Community 5k.  Monies raised by this great race go to help our wounded vets.

As I drove to Fitchburg I remembered back to what a great time I had there when I last ran their race.  Kinda brought a smile to my face the closer I got.IMG_0001

As usual, I arrived a couple hours early.  Then I looked for the people that were running around like crazy people.  You see, when you want to find the organizers of a race on race day, just look for the ones that are everywhere all at once.  Yep, that would be them.

Mark and Robin are the main organizers of the wonderful day. And, I was able to slow them both down for a split second to get this photo.  Mark remembered me from the last time I was there and Robin I met for the first time.  They, and all their volunteers, put on an amazing day and event.  Everyone that comes has a wonderful, wonderful time.  “My hat’s off to you all for the great job that you do”.

Check out the pictures and the stories I experienced that day in the entries following this one,  Then put this race on your calender for next year.  Come and enjoy the experience.
